How it's calculated
Weeks pregnant = (today − (due date − 280 days)) ÷ 7. Trimester 1: weeks 1–13; trimester 2: weeks 14–27; trimester 3: week 28 to birth.
Understanding your results
Fruit sizes are approximate averages and every baby grows at their own pace.
Your three trimesters
First (1–13): all major organs form; tiredness and nausea are common. Second (14–27): often the most comfortable; you will feel movements and have your anomaly scan. Third (28–40): rapid growth, more check-ups and preparing for birth.
What happens in each trimester
First trimester (weeks 1–13). Your baby's major organs, heart and nervous system form. Many people feel tired, nauseous and emotional; others feel very little. This is when you'll have your first appointment, blood tests and usually a dating scan, and when folic acid matters most.
Second trimester (weeks 14–27). Often the most comfortable stretch. Energy tends to return, the bump becomes visible and you'll probably feel your baby move. The detailed anomaly scan and the glucose screening test fall in this trimester.
Third trimester (week 28 to birth). Your baby gains most of their weight. Appointments become more frequent, and it's time to count kicks daily, learn the signs of labour, pack your bag and prepare for life with a newborn.
Appointments you can expect
Schedules vary by country and hospital, but a typical low-risk pregnancy includes a first visit around 6–10 weeks, first-trimester screening at 11–13+6 weeks, an anomaly scan at 18–22 weeks, a glucose test at 24–28 weeks, and visits every two to four weeks after that, becoming weekly near the end. Your Due Date Calculator results list these on real dates, and you can add them to your calendar in one tap.
In Singapore, KKH's published timeline is a useful reference: a first visit and dating scan at 8–12 weeks, optional screening at 11–14 weeks, the detailed scan at 18–21 weeks, diabetes screening at 24–28 weeks, a growth scan at 28–32 weeks and a Group B Strep swab at 35–37 weeks. If you start at a polyclinic, expect check-ups every four weeks until 28 weeks and every two weeks after that, before moving to your hospital for the last stretch.
Small daily habits that help
- Take the supplements your doctor recommends, such as folic acid early on.
- Eat little and often, and keep water nearby.
- Keep moving: walking, swimming and prenatal yoga suit most pregnancies.
- Sleep on your side in the third trimester.
- Write down questions for your next appointment as they come up.
- Rest without guilt — growing a baby is work.
Getting the most from the tracker
Open the dashboard whenever you like. Your week, day and countdown update automatically. Use the arrows on the weekly card to look ahead or back, tick off your trimester checklist as you go, and download it as a PDF to share with your partner. Signing up for the weekly email sends you a short note each new week; everything else stays on your device.
Common symptoms, week by week
Early weeks: tiredness, nausea at any time of day, tender breasts and needing to wee more often. Eating little and often and resting when you can help most.
Middle weeks: energy often returns, but heartburn, back ache, round ligament twinges and a blocked nose can appear. Your bump grows and you'll start feeling movements.
Final weeks: breathlessness, trouble sleeping, swollen ankles, pelvic pressure and Braxton Hicks tightenings are common. Sleep on your side, put your feet up and keep counting kicks.
Call your maternity unit promptly for bleeding, severe pain, a severe headache or vision changes, sudden swelling, fluid leaking, fever, or reduced baby movements.
Preparing for your baby
The third-trimester checklist is designed to spread preparation out so nothing lands in the last week. Useful milestones: choose a safe sleep space and a car seat by around 32 weeks, pack your hospital bag by 36 weeks, wash baby clothes and bedding, prepare postpartum supplies, and plan who can help in the first weeks at home. Batch-cooking a few freezer meals is one of the most-thanked tips from new parents.
How baby size is estimated
Baby sizes on the weekly card are typical averages from published fetal growth data: crown-to-rump length until about 19 weeks, then crown-to-heel length. Fruit comparisons are just a friendly way to picture the size. Your own baby may be a little bigger or smaller, and your scans are the best guide to how your baby is growing.
Looking after your mental health
Pregnancy brings big emotions: excitement, worry, impatience, sometimes all in one afternoon. Mood changes are common, but persistent low mood, anxiety that stops you enjoying things, panic attacks or intrusive thoughts are worth talking about. They're common, treatable and nothing to be ashamed of. Tell your midwife, doctor or someone you trust, and lean on your partner, family and friends. In Singapore, KKH runs a Women's Mental Wellness Service, and your polyclinic or gynae can refer you. Short walks, regular meals, enough sleep and time with people who make you feel good all help.
Frequently asked questions
Which trimester am I in?
Weeks 1–13 are the first, 14–27 the second, and 28 onwards the third.
Why does my app say a different week?
Some apps count from conception. Medical dating, and this tool, count from the first day of your last period.
Can I use it on more than one device?
Export your data and import it on the other device.
Why does the tracker say I'm 25 weeks when I'm in my 26th week?
Like doctors, the tracker counts completed weeks. At 25 weeks and 2 days you've completed 25 weeks and are in your 26th.
Can my partner see the same dashboard?
They can open the tool on their own phone and enter the same due date. Data isn't synced between devices because nothing is stored online.
What if my due date changes after a scan?
Tap Change due date and enter the new one, or recalculate in the Due Date Calculator and save it as your pregnancy.
